Bone Density Testing

We are excited to announce that we have just installed one of the very first all digital bone density machine in all of Monmouth County. Our new machine is one of the most sophisticated bone densitometers available. Using its all digital technology, patients are exposed to one-third the radiation of existing machines. This also allows for higher precision and faster scans. Our studies are more thorough than most other centers because we scan both hips and obtain measurements of the spine in both the front to back and lateral views. Many other centers measure only one hip and one view of the spine. Additionally, no other machine is capable of evaluating bone mass of hip joints which have been artificially replaced.

In addition, our bone density machine can also measure body composition. These studies are used to determine the percentage of body fat, muscle mass, and bone mass for specific areas of the body. This information is useful for evaluation of a variety of metabolic disorders and for people who are interested in fitness to evaluate their progress.

Child Birth Classes

We are now offering our patients the opportunity to learn about childbirth and infant care in the comfort of our Freehold office. Classes will be held on the second Sunday of every month with Donna Makris, RN, BSN, IBCLC, expert certified childbirth educator and lactation consultant.
