3-D & 4-D Ultrasound

The future is here! Women's Physicians and Surgeons is excited to one of the first practices in New Jersey to bring the latest in ultrasound technology to you. 3-D ultrasound makes photo-like images of your unborn baby. 4-D or live 3-D ultrasound produces 3-D video images. Imagine seeing your baby actually sucking his thumb or watching her yawn!

3-D ultrasound is more than just a pretty face. It can also enhance our ability to diagnose a variety of obstetric and gynecologic conditions. In addition to producing surface rendering (i.e. photo like images), we can use multiplanar techniques to virtually slice through an organ in any plane. We can virtually dissect an ovarian cyst to better judge whether it is benign or malignant. 3-D imaging allows us to perform virtual hysteroscopy which non-invasively evaluates the uterine cavity and has the potentional to reduce the need for operative procedures such as D&C and hysteroscopy!
