Karen Krieg, DO.
Dr. Karen Krieg was born and raised in central New Jersey. She graduated with honors from Binghamton University (formerly SUNY at Binghamton) with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry. She attended medical school with a Teagle Scholarship, at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Krieg continued at UNDNJ-SOM to complete her internship where she was presented with the “Intern of the Year” award, and ob/gyn residency, where she served as both chief intern and chief resident. After completion of her residency in 2002, Dr. Krieg worked in both private practice and as faculty at St. Peter’s University Hospital. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Krieg holds privileges at both CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, New Jersey and St. Peter’s University Hospital of New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Consistent with an osteopathic approach to health care, Dr. Krieg advocates a “whole person” approach to medicine. Instead of just treating specific symptoms or illnesses, she believes in regarding the body as an integrated whole and focuses on preventive health care. This approach relies on listening and collaborating with patients to provide a proper diagnosis and adopting an individual treatment pain. Dr. Krieg, while fully trained in all aspects of ob/gyn, is especially interested in infertility, high risk pregnancy, family planning and adolescent medicine. For patients who require surgery, Dr. Krieg’s surgical skills include advanced laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation, and hysterectomy.
Dr. Krieg lives in Monroe Township with her husband, Marshall. She is the proud mother of three year old twins, Matthew and Kayla. Marshall is an attorney at law. Dr. Krieg’s hobbies include cooking, traveling, scuba diving and fitness.
